The CV Index, is a privately managed serviceby interested members, that was first established September 1998.
As far as our research could discover, we were the web's first truly multi-industry searchable database of CVs / Resumes. The idea was to establish a simple to use and easy to find "club" or group of CVs which had powerful "searchability", which was freely and publicly open to all CVSearchers - from employers to networkers. A sort of mutual self promotion society, if you like.
The internet has provided a golden opportunity for the 'emancipation' of many of the daily functions of Jobs Searching. A task which up until the advent of the web, was mostly filled by middle men (and women), who have (necessarily and sometimes not), sought to manipulate your need for work, with their need to earn a living for themselves. These two requirements, not necessarily perfectly compatible.
Today we are a rotating team of regularly contributing staffers and freelancers, all operating by "Remote Office"
