Graduate Environmental Planner - Engineering [02/17/2010] |

To provide environmental input into capital projects. Identifying all scope requirements and obtaining all relevant consents The Graduate will work within the Environment and Sustainability team consisting of, Landscape Architects, Ecologists and Environmental Planners. They advise the capital programme teams on all aspects relating to the identification of environmental and planning constraints and risks to projects. They ensure that all environmental legislation and UU environmental policies and targets are accounted for in the design of capital schemes and obtain all the relevant consents.
Knowledge of sustainability principles and the UK environmental regulatory framework is important in meeting our objectives and the post holder will be expected to gain this knowledge from work experience and training. The post holder will be expected to communicate information clearly and concisely to both technical design teams as well as external regulators such as planning authorities, the Environment Agency and Natural England. It is expected that the post holder will have a Degree in Geography or an Environmental discipline and be capable of progressing to chartered status within 2 to 4 years | Desirable Criteria | key competencies - teamworking, communication | | Qualifications required | degree |
