Working as part of the facilities management team, the post holder will offer excellent customer service to staff, visitor and clients. This will be achieved by contributing to providing a comfortable, safe and well presented building. Duties include supervising on-site contractors and monitoring their service delivery, being the initial response to reactive maintenance issues, making compliance checks, covering reception shifts when required, general portering, mail room duties and general housekeeping. The facilities assistant will report to the Assistant Facilities Services Manager. This role is for a 40 hour working week. Essential Candidates must meet all of the following criteria; - Proven ability to work within a team
- Experience of working with customers both face-to-face and via the telephone
- Good communication skills – written and spoken English
- Duties involved will require a certain level of competency with numbers
- PC literate - experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be fit and active
Desirable - Experience in similar role
- Basic general maintenance repair skills
- Knowledge of Health & Safety
- Ensure external suppliers are meeting service requirements (Royal Mail, OCS)
- Ensure customers, visitors and clients receive excellent service at all times
- Support to the on-site facilities team
- Monitoring and management of contractors and suppliers with regards to value for money
- Timely completion of FM services to staff, visitors and clients
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance is met at all times
- Working closely with the whole of the Corporate Facilities Management team to deliver efficient and effective customer service
- Work closely and effectively with the Assistant Facilities Services Manager to ensure successful operation of the post room
- The successful candidate will be required to achieve an appropriate level of security clearance
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment health questionnaire.
