Supervises staff to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met. Provides customer service to sites to resolve payroll issues. Supports payroll manager in enforcing payroll policies and procedures. Supervise/participate in weekly payroll processing ensuring all deadlines, both internal and external, are met Coordinate weekly payroll processing with Human Resources department Audit data entered by both Human Resources and Payroll prior to transmission Coordinate withholding and remittance of union dues, United Way and occupational taxes Coordinate generation of US W-2s and Canadian T-4s Review tax returns prepared by Ceridian Tax Service and act as customer contact Ensure proper weekly posting of US and Canadian payroll to the general ledger Supervise weekly posting of benefits Supervise monthly posting of payroll accrual Develop/enhance internal controls in the payroll department Reply/complete internal and external requests for payroll data Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts monthly including bank account Coordinate proper pay of ex-patriots with Human Resources Maintain accounting related tables in payroll software Follow up with taxing authorities/Ceridian to set up new local taxes Load upgrades to software as necessary Address phone calls from associates
