Offshore Industries Advisor [02/19/2010] |

We are looking for a person to work as part of the Marine Advice Team in providing JNCC's nature conservation advice on human activities in the marine environment. The team works closely with other JNCC staff responsible for work on marine protected sites, marine surveillance, interpretation and common standards. This post will mainly be involved in the provision of advice in relation to the potential impacts of offshore industries which may include marine mineral dredging, the offshore oil and gas industry, offshore renewable and shipping. We are looking for a person with a good understanding of offshore industries and associated marine conservation issues and the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people, particularly in Government and industry. The majority of the work will be based on providing advice on applications for offshore works to government bodies such as the (forthcoming) Marine Management Organisation, Department for Energy and Climate Change and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
