Responsibilities:

- Prepare financial analyses and models to support the decision making process

- Support the execution of the BD Biosciences Europe business plan (reporting of deficiencies and monitoring/communication of corrective actions) and provide guidance to the business on how to reach operating and business plans

- Provide support in managing the Company assets (car stock, ONCA, balance sheet in general)

- Independently interface with Business Managers and Local Finance from various countries to understand local financial performance and trends

- Provide reports covering the Business performance versus budget, forecast and prior year supported by appropriate analysis of the financial data

- Prepare / consolidate budgets and forecasts for the BD Biosciences Business in Europe

- Analyse budgets and forecasts for the Business Income Statement based on the current strategies and goals

- Ensure BD projects and initiatives are successfully achieved by representing Finance at business team meetings, or if appropriate, by leading such meetings

- Adhere to and convey BD values and work to Corporate Policy Guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Practice

- Attend Leadership Team or Staff meetings in the absence of the European Financial Controller

- Occasionally represent the European Financial Controller in S&OP discussions, Business Meetings (Pharma, DL, Service)

- Provide guidance on policies and procedures to the BD Biosciences leadership team, local Finance professionals, local selling and service teams

- Act as a trainer for FOSY, Powerplay and Hyperion if and when needed by the business

- Assist Business Management in understanding how they can support in achieving BD’s strategy of “Great Performance” by improving BD financial outlook in their day-to-day activities, while ensuring they are continually “doing the right thing”

- Occasional business travel in Europe Position

Requirements:

- Master degree in Finance/Accounting, with a minimum of 10 years experience (in accounting, audit or financial controlling)

- Preferably familiar with US GAAP

- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; demonstrates the ability to analyse complex information, identify critical issues and recommend solutions

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, able to effectively articulate and communicate complex information

- Highly PC literate, including financial and office systems and advanced Excel user; HFM/Powerplay experience would be a plus

- Able to work both independently and as a member of a team

- A strong planner, self motivated, disciplined and organized to manage own workload without supervision

- Flexibility in working hours, depending on the finance cycles.
