- Develop and implement potential Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) solutions and approach for Shell in cooperation with the Risk Management Team
- Establish and implement risk pricing methodologies related to Shell risk exposures
- Engage with the external insurance market to understand market pricing mechanisms and capacity and evaluate, whether those approaches can be applied within Shell
- Analyze and optimize current portfolio of risk management solutions e.g. property damage, third party liability, product liability, natural catastrophe exposures
- Develop recommendations for an optimal risk transfer/risk retention framework with specific regards to the catastrophic exposures function on low frequency, high severity basis
- Take a lead in the development and implementation of new and additional risk management solutions like reinsurance of pension liabilities, business interruption, credit insurance etc.
- Drive all actuarial activities to ensure economical effectiveness of group insurance companies including optimal pricing and use of capital
- Prepare and submit all actuarial reports including analyses requested by the board/management of Solen Versicherungen AG as well as the Swiss supervisory authority FINMA and others as required
- Manage all external actuarial advisors and interact with the regulatory authorities on a regular basis
With a professional qualification as Swiss actuary (SAV) and a degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or finance, you will have several years of professional experience in the financial services industry, working for a multi-national or professional firm. Ideally you have already worked in the insurance business. As an effective communicator of complex insurance issues you’ll have a strong business focus and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, you’ll be competent at establishing, maintaining and utilizing external relationships and networks with business stakeholders. A high level of fluency in written and spoken German or French as well as a working knowledge of English is mandatory for this position in order to communicate effectively with colleagues and regulatory authorities.
