This is a Military Support Function (MSF) post. Posts are designated MSF when particular skills, competences and military knowledge are required. Any skills, knowledge and experience you believe pertinent to the vacancy should be expanded upon in your application in the Competence, Experience and Knowledge section of the application form. Responsible to Commander Defence Training Estate (DTE) East for the safe allocation, management and use of all DTE East ranges and training facilities at Stanford Training Area. Provide advice to Unit Commanders to ensure that their use conforms to current training safety criteria and enables them to meet their training objectives. Conduct Intelligent Customer Capability (ICC) inspections on behalf of Commander DTE East within the appropriate Service Delivery category. Line manager for 3 military and 4 civilian staff. Implement and manage procedures to control all air activity and civilian access to Stanford Training Area. Supervising Officer for the Training Areas and Range Operation category of the DTE Strategic Partnering Project. Manage Risk Assessments, environmental, conservation and Health and Safety at Work (HSW) requirements as they affect range safety and use of facilities. Provide advice to the Commandants of East Anglia and East Midlands Training Areas on range safety matters. Liaises closely with local stakeholders and farmers and is a member of the Stanford Training Area (STANTA) Conservation group. Skills/Personal Qualities
