Job DescriptionThe successful graduate would be recruited as an HR Consultant, and could join one of the following Human Resources departments: Employee Relations, HR Business Operations or Education, Training & Development. Following your first assignment in one of these departments, we would expect that you would gain experience of all these areas early in your career.
Main responsibilities would include:
• Providing day to day HR support to a department within the business
• Supporting line management to realise the potential of their organisations and people, through activities such as performance management, career development, attendance management etc.
• Identifying competency gaps and developing training solutions.
• Providing guidance on HR policies and procedures
• Promoting and coordinating HR initiatives and activities
• Building credible and effective working relationships with line management, employees, and in some cases trade union representatives and external suppliers
Applications welcomed from graduates in a broad range of degree disciplines.
Candidates need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop solid working relationships. Professionalism, confidence, and commercial acumen will be key attributes for success, as well as an ability to understand and effectively implement HR policies and procedures. You will have a close attention to detail and high focus on the quality of your work output.
A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Excel, Word and Power Point. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate that they have the ability to learn key HR systems.
A full driving license will be required – as travel between Company sites is required for a number of HR roles.
