This strategic post is accountable for ensuring the highest possible standards of achievement and enjoyment in learning for all 0 to 11 year olds. The Principal Primary School Improvement Adviser is specifically responsible for: improving the quality of provision, especially teaching and learning opportunities; improving leadership and management in Primary schools and other relevant settings. 2. The post holder will provide the leadership and performance management of the 5 -11 Team and, as a member of the School Improvement Service Senior Management Team, leading on the development and implementation of the School Improvement Strategy including the Differentiated, Challenge, Support and Monitoring policy. STANDARD DUTIES 1. To ensure all schools educational settings have the capacity and confidence to make appropriate provision for all pupils. 2. Maintain an overview of the quality and effectiveness of provision for children and young people in Oldham. 3. Ensure colleagues in school improvement service are able to provide support and challenge to all Oldham schools in order for children and young people with to receive their educational entitlement. 4. Advise the local authority of the equitable allocation and targeting of delegated resources, centrally held and brokered services. 5. Understand and adhere to the Council’s Equal Opportunities and Community Cohesion Policies, and ensure that good practice in equal opportunities is promoted and reflected in all aspects of the post holder’s remit Job Type: Permanent Location: United Kingdom Durham
