Kate Greenaway is a delightful and innovative Nursery School and Children’s Centre with 51 places for children aged from six months to five year olds. It is small enough for the headteacher to get to know all the children on roll and their families. We are located close to King’s Cross station in Central London in an area where there are high levels of disadvantage, and also many new opportunities arising from the regeneration of the area. The nursery school has developed leading edge practice around outdoor play and the key person approach. There is strong capacity for further improvement. The Children’s Centre is managed on a day to day basis by the deputy head, and offers health services, family support, and help to parents wanting to return to work. We also have a community kitchen. We are looking for an experienced and committed early years teacher to lead our team, who will continue to maintain a strong child-centred ethos and work closely with parents.
