Executive Compensation Analyst  [04/29/2010]



The executive compensation analyst will be responsible for supporting all compensation, benefits and equity plan proposals for proxy analyses in the U.S. market. With the pending legislative requirement of advisory vote on compensation, there will be significant emphasis on executive compensation issues at U.S. companies. This analyst is responsible for reviewing policies and procedures on compensation, maintaining a full understanding and knowledge of RMG’s proprietary compensation model, and reviewing analyses with compensation and benefits related issues. The analyst also aids other research analysts and clients with inquiries regarding compensation.
Responsibilities:
  • Be a resident subject matter expert for U.S. Research staff in all areas of compensation and benefits, with a specialized
  • focus on executive compensation or executive benefits.
  • Contribute or analyze high profile/contentious proxy statements with executive compensation issues.
  • Complete written analyses detailing RMG vote recommendations and rationale for compensation issues. Support research staff in their analyses and review staff’s work with the compensation model.
  • Lead or participate in policy formulation relating to executive compensation.
  •  Answer client and company inquiries and explain RMG’s compensation policies and model methodology as necessary.
  • Interface with technology to ensure that US Research has the tools to run the model and that procedures are accurate, thorough, and up-to-date.
  • Recruit and train research staff on executive compensation policies and methodologies
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written skills
  • Team player, dedicated to personal and team development
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging and fast paced environment
  • Degree business or economics or equivalent experience; MBA, CEP or CCP preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in executive compensation and benefits with a major corporation or consultant
  • Highly focused on executive compensation or executive benefits
  • Ability to explain complex compensation issues to clients and colleagues
  • Ability to understand and work with compensation modeling programs
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, theory and application
  • Understanding of corporate governance issues, corporate transactions and capital markets.
