Job purpose:To manage and grow a portfolio of rural clients, in accordance with bank and branch goals for profitability, client satisfaction and credit quality.
Key accountabilities:- Meet individual budget for new and existing business growth and manage/develop a portfolio of clients, by developing client relationships.
- Manage moderately complex clients and accounts.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the branch marketing plans, business plans and budgets.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and maintain high customer advocacy rates.
- Ensure the credit application process is completed to a high standard with minimal reworks.
- Identify poor-performing assets early and ensure appropriate action taken to resolve.
- Ensure compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures at all times, including Audit, Compliance, Business Continuity and Credit (excesses, reviews, client conditions).
- Contribute to the achievement of the Bank's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals and objectives and adhere to CSR policies.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints and disputes in a timely manner.
- Carry out the duties of a “C” signatory (if obtained) as required under the credit policy.
- Other duties as directed.
Key skill areas:Business Knowledge Sound knowledge of the rural industry. Knowledge of specialised financial products. Ability to develop sound knowledge of client operations.
Leadership Skills Interpersonal Skills Customer Focus Technical and Specialist Skills Demonstrated sales and marketing skills. Financial analysis skills including balance sheet, profit and loss statement analysis and cash flow interpretation. Credit analysis skills. Knowledge of Microsoft applications. Experience in property valuation (desirable).
Planning and Organisation Ability to manage competing priorities, work to targets and plan own work. Ability to plan and organise own work to maximise sales opportunities and to meet relationship targets.
Qualifications and Experience 3-5 years experience in a rural banking account management role, as a Rural Officer or similar in another bank. Degree in agriculture, business, finance or related discipline.
