Job Description
Financial Risk Management (FRM) is an integrated group comprised of our underlying Financial Services risk management, regulatory advisory and actuarial service areas. We have approximately 190 UK-based advisers and a as well as a team of 400 throughout Europe. Having merged with our corresponding German, Spanish, Belgian, Dutch and Swiss practices to become the first European-wide risk practice of the Big Four, each service area provides solutions to our clients in their underlying area of specialist knowledge and we work together in supporting our clients across the broad field of risk, governance and compliance issues that they face. Our focus is on providing commercially relevant advice underpinned by a thorough understanding of the underlying technical content. We work extensively with KPMG's other advisory service lines on supporting transactions, investigations and wider consulting engagements for our clients. Our insurance clients include over forty percent of the Lloyd's Market, a large number of London Marker insurers and reinsurers as well as many of the leading worldwide insurance and reinsurance groups including Bermudian start-ups. We provide the full range of actuarial services including pricing, capital assessment and reserving. The services offered are varied, and are often tailor made in response to demanding and interesting client problems. We are looking for people to work with a wide portfolio of clients on a varied range of engagements. There are many development opportunities, including overseas work, international secondments and working with experts in other disciplines as a part of multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities- Leading client engagement teams and in some instances working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Providing a high quality advisory service to our clients - Building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing clients as well as within KPMG
- Winning new business through marketing and sales activities
- Creation and contribution to high quality thought leadership through written publications, training events, client seminars and conferences
- Contributing to the development of new products and services
- Sharing knowledge and experience and contributing to the development of the team
- Marketing and raising the profile of KPMG
The successful candidate is expected to be a qualified actuary and is expected to demonstrate: - The capability to manage concurrent engagements and play a part in shaping and implementing KPMG's tailored solutions
- The ability to develop productive relationships that bring in business
- Strong technical and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to deal with clients and senior personnel from day one.
- Flexibility and an enjoyment of working on challenging projects, and interacting with teams from other business groups
- Strong project and people management skills, and an ability to structure task allocations around critical goals
- Experience gained within either a consultancy or company environment are both equally advantageous.
- A willingness to undertake travel may be required on occasion.
