This exciting new role in Heathrow Express is responsible for working with managers in Heathrow Express' operations, HR and engineering function, to provide a clear focus on assurance, process quality and compliance. The role reports to the Business Assurance Manager and sits within the Service Proposition team which is responsible for the safe, fast and frequent delivery of the Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect train services to over 8 million passengers a year. - Lead the development of the Company Assurance Strategy into an Annual Assurance Plan. Coordinate and facilitate the assurance activities to avoid clashes and to smooth the workload across the team.
- Ensure that the Assurance Plan provides an assessment of compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, 2005, the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations, 2006, the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, the Construction Design & Management Regulations, 2007, other relevant legislation, railway group standards and best practice.
- Manage the delivery of the Assurance Plan by self, the technical consultants and responsible managers. Provide high quality reports on progress against the plan, findings and any non-compliances. Report any high risk findings.
- Ensure that action plans are put in place for all non-compliances and that they have timescales and priorities appropriate to the risk they present to the Business. Support the relevant owning managers in developing and implementing agreed solutions to address them, and report progress.
- Own and manage the internal audit process and ensure it remains compliant with the requirements of the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations, 2006 Carry out some internal audits as per the Annual Assurance Plan.
- Develop the Company Management System to incorporate the principles of quality management; achieve and maintain ISO 9001 accreditation. Lead process improvement and development activities, and ensure that the Company Management System is kept up to date.
- Support the Company’s continued accreditation to ISO 14001 and 27001 standards, acting as the lead contact in the business and carrying out regular assessments of compliance on behalf of the Business Assurance Manager.
