Position Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation of TPM methodologies in order to improve factory efficiency/reliability, increase asset utilization, and reduce conversion costs. Provide technical and operational support for the plant in maintenance, engineering services (ammonia, steam, air, water, waste discharge) and champion TPM activities. Drive a strong and robust Manufacturing Excellence Program through TPM philosophy. Through TPM develop a culture of loss control and prevention, aiming at continuous improvement. As a support function to production they will minimize line downtime, assist with process and operations, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Responsibilities: • Understands and Implements TPM to drive performance for loss management. • Acts as a custodian for TPM and applies the TPM philosophy in all areas. • Measures and reports on TPM performance. • Applies TPM framework, tools and techniques across extended supply chain. • Translates TPM into the local culture. • Manages all Engineering Services aspects of the factory – Ammonia, Steam, Water, Air, Waste Discharge, and manages all aspects of facility maintenance. • Manages the plant CMMS and PM work order system – currently AMMS. • Effectively communicates change to factory teams to reduce barriers to change. • Manages the implementation of change i.e. new processes, product and ways of working. • Works with manufacturing to identify any skills required to effectively perform job duties. • In depth understanding of packaged ice cream and novelty equipment – key equipment, equipment suppliers, Unilever functional specification requirements, and integrated systems, how they operate, impact on product quality, fault diagnosis & corrective action. • Lead or participate in HAZOP/Tech Design reviews, studies. • Develops and applies effective maintenance strategy by asset and instrumentation and control e.g. Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), lubrication management, time based maintenance. • Target and goal setting (1, 3, 5 years). • Active and/or lead role role on the plant emergency response team. Education Engineering Degree or related University, post secondary education. Experience Three to five years manufacturing experience, preferably in food, pharmaceutical or beverage products. Previous department or team leadership experience required. Working experience with order fulfillment, manufacturing or maintenance management, team development and project management is also required.
