You have a good standard of education and preferably hold a degree or qualification in Engineering, Decontamination, Management, Health Care or Social Care. You have experience supervising and motivating others as well as the management of budgets, continuous improvement and change management. Ability to travel within Aberdeenshire is essential.
You are a flexible, organised and practical professional with excellent communication and negotiating skills to manage a brand new Joint Equipment Service on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council and NHS Grampian. You have knowledge of logistics and procurement processes as well as Health & Safety regulations.
The appointment is subject to satisfactory clearance from Disclosure Scotland and the provision of Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary and where they are available. It is a criminal offence for anyone who is on the Disqualified from working with Children list or disqualified from working with vulnerable adults or the elderly to apply for or continue to working in this position. Job Purpose Responsible for the operational day to day management and development of the Aberdeenshire Joint Equipment Service
Main Tasks - To manage the provision and development of the Aberdeenshire Joint Equipment Service.
- To work closely with all stakeholders to ensure customer expectations of the Joint Equipment Service are met.
- To provide support and supervision to Joint Equipment Service Technical Assistants and Clerical Assistants
- To manage the Joint Equipment Centre building and vehicle fleet.
- To manage the Joint Equipment Service budget.
- To manage devolved Aids and Adaptations budgets.
- To manage the assets of the Joint Equipment Service and the risks presented by these assets
Experience / Qualifications / Personal Qualities
Essential Criteria- Previous experience supervising staff.
- Experience of management of budgets.
- Experience of change management and continuous improvement in a system and process driven environment
- A good standard of education.
- A diploma or equivalent in Purchasing & Supply, Supply Chain Management or a related subject, or the willingness to complete such a qualification within the first year of post.
- Clean driving licence and the ability to travel.
- Knowledge of logistics and procurement processes including stores, stock and asset management.
- Knowledge of the mandatory and statutory Health & Safety regulations covering the work of a community equipment service.
- Planning, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Negotiating, persuading and influencing skills.
- Good time management skills

Desirable Criteria - Experience of working in a procurement, supply and logistics department.
- Experience of Joint working between large organisations.
- Experience of working in a Community Care setting.
- A degree in a related subject.
- A qualification in Engineering, Decontamination, Management, Health Care or Social Care.
- A folio of training undertaken by the applicant that demonstrates an interest in this post and a capacity for personal development.
- Knowledge of the issues faced by widespread and rural areas.
- Knowledge of the rights and needs of older people and people with disabilities
