Unilever Canada has an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Supply Chain Finance team at its Head Office location, 160 Bloor Street East. This position will report to an Associate Finance Manager – HPC Supply Chain. The position will directly support the Skin and Deodorant categories. The key responsibilities of the position include: BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP • Lead the Gross Margin Variance Analysis process for supported categories through inputs from category, trade, logistics and corporate finance. Insights and findings need to be communicated to business partners, within and outside of finance, both informally and formally at forums such as the Business Leadership Team (BLT) meetings. • Coordinate the supply chain portion of the monthly forecasting process for supported categories. This involves liaising with counterparts in other areas of finance to ensure correct and complete Supply Chain forecasts are loaded into the Essbase planning system, and validating overall Supply Chain assumptions for supported categories (which requires strong working knowledge of foreign exchange, commodity, inventory revaluation and capitalization principles) • Lead and coordinate the cost savings initiatives (VIP) for supported categories. Ensure that ISIS is maintained and up to date, and follow up with colleagues in USA to ensure applicable savings are being passed between the two countries. Strategically influence business partners in brand and operations to continue pushing to achieve annual targeted savings. • Special project management / ad hoc work as required. Examples might include support for sourcing studies, leading cross border cost / margin comparisons between Canada and USA, providing go-forward and historical commodity / foreign exchange views in support of pricing / trade actions, etc. • Provide day to day support to supported categories. MONTH-END, COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING • Support of COGSREBRAND error resolution • Support of capitalization process including inventory revaluation • Troubleshooting miscellaneous ME issues as they arise • Preparing account reconciliations • Supply chain lead support to the tax department for contemporaneous documentation • Supply chain lead support for costing information for company store • Creation of info records for cross-border items We are looking for a dynamic individual who will be able to demonstrate leadership in the Canadian business; both to the categories they will support and to other analysts, challenge the status quo, has a process improvement mindset and is tenacious in the follow up of issues. Candidates require strong analytical abilities, good communication skills and the ability to perform in a multi-task work environment. The successful candidate must have a University degree with a finance/accounting emphasis. The candidate must have completed or is in the process of completing a post-graduate designation (CMA, CGA, CA). A solid working knowledge of computerized business systems (Essbase, SAP) as well as PC based computer applications is essential.
