Job Description Responsible for the local management and direction of market risk management functions within the country and covering product areas including Equities, Rate Derivatives etc. In conjunction with the Market Risk Regional Products Manager, establishes market risk management policies, procedures and standards. Additional responsibilities include the implementation of the New/ Complex Product Approval Process, possible limit approval authority or preclearing, and reporting of market risk. Primary interface will be with the Trading/ Marketing Managers and the managers of other risk and support groups (i.e. Compliance, Finance, Operations etc). Responsibilities | Acts as a strategic planning partner for the business financial implications of Line of Business's decisions. Influences peers and managers across organisational lines to take action on complex, technical or sensitive risk topics with broad impact on a company-wide basis. Develops a clearly defined business architecture for appropriate risk management which links business and technology strategies. In conjunction with the relevant specialist Risk executives, establishes appropriate risk management policies, procedures and standards. Responsible for the analysis and monitoring of all risks taken within the geographic remit. Responsibilities may include the New / Complex Product Approval Process, Market Risk Quantification, limit approval authority and reporting of risk. Interface with the senior business heads as well as with Country Management teama nd the Heads of other risk and support groups. Requirements Incumbents typically have over ten years of experience in market risk management or trading. Product knowledge and derivatives trading or quantitative skills are necessary.
