Job Description Generates profitable income to firm through prospecting, development and servicing of High Net Worth (HNW) retail and middle-market accounts Provides investment advice/solutions to HNW clients in order to meet their investment strategies Has a specific geographic market focus Has developed HNW clientele in one or two markets where the wealth management advisor can achieve the greatest impact Partners with other Merrill Lynch (ML) businesses to facilitate client needs and maximize client relationships Assists client in navigating through ML Provides customized solutions and develops/implements a HNW client-segment strategy that facilitates ML’s HNW client offerings, including generational planning, banking and liability management, and asset management Works closely as part of a team, to prospect new clients and develop/retain current client relationships Obtains, with Client Service Officer (CSO)/Client Service Associate (CSA), personal and investment information from the HNW client/prospect to create and maintain client profiles Conducts proper due diligence Manages CSO/CSA Keeps current on and complies with regulatory matters Keeps current on ML financial products and services and industry and investor trends by attending training courses and seminars and by reading product literature and trade publications Responsibilities Complexity of Decision Making | Attracting and retaining HNW clients to ML Providing strategic investment advice and ideas to HNW clients Determining prospects to attract to ML Contribution/Impact on the Business Increase client asset-base, number of clients, and strategic products Increase pre-tax margins Increase revenues Has market-presence consistent with ML branding Strategic Value Primary point-of-contact with client Ensures the generation of profitable revenue for GPC and the firm Ensures client retention Requirements Experienced wealth management advisor with an established book of business, minimum of US$100 million of Assets under Management, majority of asset size greater than US$1million. Preferrably LOS 5+ Entrepreneurial-bent: independent, with strong integrity and motivation Understands the client’s perspective and effectively provides strategic solutions. Fluency in English Fluency in language of the prospective client market Exhibits initiative, motivation, and attention to detail Has good presentation and communication skills; is a good listener Demonstrates an appropriate level of technical and professional skills and knowledge Demonstrates Merrill Lynch principles.
