Basic qualifications:
- Minimum academic requirements Bachelor’s degree. - At least 10 years pharmaceutical, healthcare or related industry experience. - At least 5 years experience working as a member of drug development teams - Good understanding of the principals of project planning and execution - Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize project planning software (eg MS Project, OPX2, Primevera etc) in the management of projects - Demonstrated understanding of the CMC, Commercial and Regulatory environment, especially with respect to Biopharmaceutical Preferred qualifications:
- At least 5 years years experience as a project manager on drug development projects - Knowledge and experience within the Biopharmaceutical industry desirable. In depth knowledge and experience within the Biopharmaceutical industry, particularly a clear understanding of the CMC, Commercial and Regulatory environment preferred. - Demonstrated matrix management skills and clear ability work effectively in cross functional team environment - Demonstrated aptitude for managing multiple projects and priorities - Demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management - Well organized and methodical approach to problem solving - Ability to apply leadership skills to achieve expedited project delivery. This includes skills in delegation, supervision and planning, fostering teamwork and thinking strategically - Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communications and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management. - Demonstrated strong influencing skills and personal resilience. - Ability to understand and resolve conflicting needs of key stakeholders. - Strong presentation skills - Passion for learning and practicing the profession of Project Management, Portfolio Management and Alliance Management - Cost Control / Budgetary management experience - Formal Project Management certification (PMP) or equivalent experience but not essential Details: The Biopharm R&D Alliances, Portfolio and Project Management Team will work in partnership with colleagues within GSK and our external partners to deliver excellence in project, alliance and portfolio management. • Responsible for managing the operational plans and the cross functional delivery of the project strategy through the following key accountabilities: • Planning the Project Strategy & Options Development – driving and contributing to the planning process and options development & analysis. • Executing the Project through the Development Plan – leads team in the creation and delivery of an optimal cross functional development plan • Controlling the Project through Project Manager Deliverables – preparing and/or partnering with others to provide accurate project controls deliverables and utilizes same to manage progress to time and budget. • Risk Analysis and Management • Information and Communication Management • Team Effectiveness
- Direct, manage and drive implementation for optimal development of multiple projects from programme start/target selected to life cycle management. - Accountable for development and quality of integrated project plan (timelines, milestones, interdependencies, resources, value and risks) and identification / management of the critical path(s) - Accountable for creation and maintenance of the project budget and development of options and scenarios related to budget constraints through close collaboration with functional lines and Finance. - Responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and comprehensive project information available to wider organization - Accountable for presenting and justifying project plans, scenarios, timelines, issues and recommendations to senior committees - Accountable for secretariat of project team and compliance with governance requirements - Responsible for ensuring consistent project management standards to enable effective portfolio management. - Ensure timely notification of key issues and outcomes to Portfolio Management and Alliance Management to ensure timely and accurate portfolio information. - Participate in evaluation of in-license opportunities and accountable for development of integrated plan. - Contribute to design, development, improvement or redesign of R&D processes Job Type: Permanent Location: Ohio-Columbus/Zanesville
