Senior Business Analyst - Variable Annuities [01/21/2010] |

The Annuity projects are some of the most complex and dynamic projects we have at AXA Equitable. With the upcoming introduction of several new products, we need a Senior Business Analyst to support our team and help develop requirements in time for our specified launch dates. Key Functions: Responsible for gathering, analyzing and prioritizing business and functional requirements to facilitate the development of new Product and Document Printing solutions to support Product Development and Service Center Actively supports the goals and activities of the BA Center of Excellence Works with Senior Business Analysts, Stakeholders and other project team members on complex or moderately complex business requirements projects and determines alternative solutions for data, processes, interfaces, controls and outputs to fit within the schedule and budget Documents / translates complex business requirements into functional and technical requirements Participates as a Business Requirements Subject Matter Expert to support development of subsequent project artifacts such as the technical design and test plan documentation Participates and supports the user's business case Follows defined standards and methodologies from the AXA Equitable Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and CMMi program Develops software / vendor comparison analyses to expand inventory of recommended solutions
Differentiating Activities: Experience leading team of BAs at a project or workstream level for one or more large / critical business system Experience with formal business analysis techniques such as use case analysis, business process reengineering, Data Flow Diagrams, Data Modeling, Prototyping, and Entity Relationship diagrams Proven experience learning complex financial products and new business domains rapidly, with a knowledge of annuity products and services (including data providers within the industry) an advantage Exhibits creative problem solving and leadership in business requirements development and management Experience with quality initiatives such as CMMi, Six Sigma, ISO 9000 and/or FDA GMP to ensure best-practice processes and procedures are followed. Experience participating in BRD inspections, walkthroughs and peer reviews with a focus on defect detection, correction and metrics gathering to ensure quality BRDs are produced Experience working in a matrix environment including offshore development teams Experience with the analysis and implementation of vendor package applications
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: 5-7 years business analysis experience 3 - 5 years Life / Annuity Product Knowledge (knowledge of compliance and filing requirements a plus) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Business Training / Certification (such as FLMI) desired Understanding of Document Design and Data Gathering requirements Understanding of Document Procedures and Best Practices Experience with Document Printing applications – xPression, DLS Data Mapping experience a plus
