Develop and direct the surveillance, prevention and control programmes of selected non-communicable diseases in Singapore in order to promote good health and reduce illness among Singaporeans. Key accountabilities: 1. Monitor progress of implementation of national disease control plans for major non-communicable diseases (NCD) and review effectiveness of strategies. 2. Recommend new disease control strategies based on new research and international recommendations. 3. Review and develop national health policies related to control of major NCD, including new disease control plans. 4. . Monitor the performance of HPB’s programmes related to the control of NCD. 5. Oversee the NDRO. 6. Represent MOH in relevant committees. Jobholder Requirements:
A medical graduate with at least 8 years in medicine with postgraduate training and qualifications in Public Health or Epidemiology At least 3 years experience in the surveillance, prevention and control of non-communicable diseases at the national level is required Possess managerial and organisational skills. Able to lead a team of public health and medical professionals and interact effectively with local and international experts. Requires initiative and an analytical mind.
