Are you passionate about working on behalf and with young people? Barking & Dagenham Drug and Alcohol Action Team are looking for someone who can help us to achieve the challenging targets that will contribute towards reduction on number the proportion of young people frequently using illicit drugs, alcohol or volatile substances. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Drug & Alcohol action Team to drive forward the delivery of the Young Peoples Substance Misuse treatment plan. The successful candidate will cover maternity leave for a 6th month period. The post holder will work closely with the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) to inform the strategic direction of young people’s specialist treatment provision across all Tiers 1 – 4. The post holder will be required to embed links across both Adult and Children services to ensure value for money and create opportunities for increased outcomes, underpinned by treatment plan. The post holder will be skilled in working collaboratively and successfully across both statutory and voluntary stakeholders to deliver improved outcomes for children and young people. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in terms of a related qualification or from extensive experience in the field of commissioning, substance misuse or an associated field. With a minimum of two years experience of experience of managing commissioning arrangements including negotiating funding arrangements and an understanding the contracting process. The post holder will need to demonstrate evidence of strategic leadership and manage, monitor and deliver projects on time and to specification. This post is based in Barking & Dagenham, with some expectation of travel within the borough.
