Signalling, Power and Communications (SP&C) is responsible for the delivery of renewals of Signalling, Telecoms, Electrification and Plant. The team also is responsible for the national European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) programme on behalf of the rail industry. Investments on signalling asset renewals alone are planned at over £500m per year over the next 10 years. Your role will allow you to become involved in supporting the business plan and programme teams in estimating pre-and post-contracts for all projects within your department. We are looking for an individual who is knowledgable of/experienced in electrical engineering who can use their skills to support our programme team - by producing accurate and comprehensive estimates making sure that they are efficient and within the times scales given so that the programme teams can move forward with the projects they are working on. You will develop and promote estimating good practice within Network Rail and will refer to the Investment Competence Framework for further details of all core responsibilities, this will help you to control and manage the estimating process at project level. Do you have….? · Experience/knowledge of electrical engineering, especially in the rail and/or civil engineering industries? · Experience to a basic standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying processes and services (specifically relating to electrical engineering)? · An understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes? Are you….? · A membership of a relevant professional/trade body (ideally with chartered status)? - Confident in your ability to deliver within a designated time?
