NCALT (National Centre for Applied Learning Technologies) is looking for an Instructional Designer (ID) to cover a period of maternity leave until December 2010. Our IDs are a crucial element in the success of any e-learning courseware - leading the learning design process, working in tandem with graphic designers, interactive developers, subject matter experts and striving to deliver a media-rich, best-in-class learning experience which places the needs of the learner first. The post holder will: - Decide on the appropriate type and use of media to convey the learning
- Decide on the relevance and style of design specification and script content
- Research and gather project source material
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts to agree detailed content structure and appropriate use of media
- Work with Producer and Lead Instructional Designer to identify instructional design approach
- Liaise with Interactive Designer to ensure graphics specifications are fit for purpose
- Liaise with the E-Learning Tester to communicate the learning design
Skills The successful candidate must have: - Strong understanding of adult learning theories and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to write sound clear learning objectives.
- Ability to write assessments that measure the appropriate learning objectives.
- Experience in Instructional Design creating interactive e-learning in a team based environment.
- Knowledge of technologies associated with learning including: Flash and other authoring tools
