Includes Market Related Supplement (£3,462 – subject to annual review) plus Standby Allowance (Once qualified £1,478 per annum). Local Government Pension Scheme. An opportunity has arisen within the Electronic Services Group for a highly motivated, professional, flexible and organised Systems Engineer to join the team. You will provide support of all business related technology and will be responsible for ensuring that all critical electronic systems are operating and functioning correctly. You will also be expected to introduce new equipment such as computerised data terminal equipment and radio systems. You will be required to be part of a maintenance team on a daily basis operating out of normal working hours. As well as possessing a relevant HNC/BTEC qualification or equivalent, you will require practical knowledge and experience of data and telecommunication systems. A practical knowledge of PC systems and ancillaries, networking infrastructure (wired and wireless) and other computer based electronic systems; knowledge of Windows, MSDOS and UNIX operating systems and communication commands such as Hayes AT, would be an advantage. An awareness of GD92, VOIP and GPRS with a familiarity of PLC’s and EPROM’s would be beneficial. Pevious experience of Microsoft Office packages, email (preferably Lotus Notes), good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
