Human Resources Generalist  [02/07/2010]

Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the leadership of the human resources function for Filtration facilities in Neillsville, WI and Lake Mills, IA including:
2. Organizational development and training
3. Performance management facilitation
4. Compensation and benefits strategy execution
5. Employee relations
6. HR information system management and data analysis
7. Employee selection and retention process management
8. Right environment facilitation, including diversity and organizational inclusion processes
9. HR process compliance management (i.e., SOx)

Skills: Functional / Technical

1. BA/BS minimum (Business or HR degree preferred), MA/MS/MBA is a plus
2. 4+ years applicable experience
3. Working knowledge of US labor regulations/laws
4. Experience leading organizational development and design activity
5. Experience managing employee health and welfare programs preferred
6. Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits systems
7. Experience using an HR information system (HRIS) for both data storage and analysis

1. Measuring: Gathers information about work activities and external conditions affecting the work and the team; monitors the progress and quality of the work; communicates results; and takes corrective action as needed.

2. Continuous improvement: Creative thinker; holds self and others accountable for constantly improving the way things are done.

3. User level experience with common problem solving tools (e.g., Six Sigma)

2. Problem solving: Identifies problems that impact the work; analyzes problems in a systematic but timely manner; acts quickly and decisively to implement solutions and resolve crises; makes decisions effectively even when faced with ambiguity; and analyzes the effectiveness of decisions.

3. Upholding Cummins' Values: Serves as the 'conscience' of the organization; ensures that Cummins upholds its values and 'does the right thing' in all situations. Personally displays behaviors that reflect Cummins' values, policies and principles.

4. Customer focus: Communicates effectively with internal customers to share information and understand issues, needs and opportunities; assesses employees' needs and satisfaction to identify opportunities for improvement; proactively develops solutions that balance employee and business interests.
