Image Scientist/Engineer - Cambridge - Mass [01/03/2010] |

Reporting to the Senior Director of Analytical Technology in the Research and Advanced Development Organization, this individual will be responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining image metrology methods for electronic paper displays and its components. These responsibilities will be in support of research, product development and production. Key Responsibilities - Consult as In-house expert on image processing and analysis
- Conceive, develop and demonstrate methods to quantify image features
- Continuously improve methods including automation where applicable
- Effectively design (DOE), execute and interpret experiments
- Document new metrology tools for use in testing
- Train personnel to perform routine measurements
- Perform Gage R&R on methods for qualification
Qualifications - 5+ years of industrial experience;
- B.S. or M.S. in physics, engineering, chemistry or materials science with strong optics and programming skills required;
- Strong experimental skills (developing image analysis measurement tools, conducting data analysis, designing and interpreting experiments);
- Knowledge and demonstration of application of software packages for image processing and analysis (Image Pro Plus or IDL) as well as Microscopy skills are required; Knowledge of database software (SQL), instrumentation software and hardware (Labview) and machine vision software and hardware are desirable;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent problem solving skills;
- Demonstrated experience working as a team player.
