To provide a professional engineering management support function for the Power Solutions Midlands Region based out of the Redditch office. - Ensure that all projects and designated duties are successfully carried out in accordance with safety, technical and legislative policies and procedures
- Ensure the successful completion of all SAP duties associated with projects undertaken.
- Ensure performance is measured correctly and issues are responded to in the most reasonable and economical way
- Ensure that all works is completed in accordance with the programme of works
- Ensure that all completed projects are costed, agreed by client and closed inline with BBUS/Client process procedures
- Ensure that the Regions ESM procedures are kept up to date.
- Detailed planning and management of any works within a given area, delivering high productivity in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Ensuring high productivity and efficiency through effective control and utilisation of the contract work force and its resources, operating within the appropriate Safety Management system as defined by HS (G) 65 and the Board of Directors.
- Producing a programme of works for each element of works associated with SAP and the associated duties to meet delivery timescales and ensuring that resources, cost and deliveries are achieve.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Ensuring that all operational staff has the appropriate competencies to undertake works allocate to them.
- Assessing and understanding the technical contents and scope of works on the contracts awarded by our clients, namely OHL and Cabling works.
- Working closely with back office and commercial management team to ensure that all processes and activities are carried and completed in accordance with the approved procedures
- Identifying and understanding the legal implications of each project such as easements and way leaves
- Carrying out detailed site surveys to obtain sufficient information to execute the works in a competent and cost effective manner
- Understanding the scope of works and set out a programme of works with the activities established to meet delivery timescales.
- Assessing the level of risk identifying the any health and safety risks/ financial risks and the development of the associated contingency plans.
- Confirming that method statements and risk assessment are in line with the clients safety rules in discussions with Project Managers as required
- Ensuring all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss incidents are reported as per the company procedures
- Compliance with the CDM Management of Health and Safety 2007
- Complying with all Safety rules, site rules and procedures instructed by others when working on 3rd party sites
- Provide support to ensure that the project related records are completed, accurate and up to date
- Ensure that all personal SAP training certificates/authorizations are valid
- Proven practical and technical knowledge and experience in the Power Industry up to 132kV
- Strong technical and practical experience in the electrical distribution industry
- Strong practical knowledge in OHL and Cable industry.
- Excellent level of IT literacy, ability to produce detailed project plans, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
- Proven experience of management reporting
- Proven people management experience
- Proven knowledge of basic construction Health and Safety
- Proven knowledge of CDM 2007 legislation
- Central Networks authorised SAP to 132kV preferable
