Balfour Beatty Workplace is a leading facilities management company providing business critical solutions to a broad range of customers across the UK. Based in Stoke ST4 4AL, the 'Gas Safe' Accredited Engineer will be responsible for technical performance, maintenance and industry standards within the Stoke Schools PFI contract. The job holder will provide guidance to others on site and technical expertise in gas systems and building fabric components to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. The technician will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area – preferably building fabric - and MUST be ‘Gas Safe’ (formerly CORGI) registered. - MUST be ‘Gas Safe’ accredited - Approved and formal apprenticeship served in relevant skill area or extensive practical experience within a similar industry - Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment - Sound knowledge of Health & Safety including ISO 9001 & 14,001 - Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams and communicate, present and report technical information as appropriate to trade/skill Planning & Organisation - Work with the appropriate line manager to ensure projects are planned and delivered to customer specification and agreed service requirement Financial Responsibilities - Understands the price of contract conformance and can cost accordingly - Understands the likely expenditure and can manage costs effectively Operational Responsibilities - Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations - Repair systems, plant or equipment to the required standards - Install, commission and service of plant equipment and industrial furniture - Monitor and assess ongoing machine/ facility performance, through PPM programme as appropriate, identifying any additional works required to meet fit for purpose standards Customers - Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, establishing regular contact with appropriate personnel - Develop effective working relationships with business partners, suppliers and sub contractors to improve operational performance Job Type: Permanent Location: United Kingdom Humberside
