The BBUS Power Solutions Engineering Department (Cabling) based at Littlebrook undertakes the specification and design of supertension (33 – 500kV) cable system projects to be installed by the BBUS Operations Department within the UK and overseas. To give support to the Design Team through the provision of high quality sketches and engineering drawings. - The production of engineering drawings for structural steelwork, cable trench and trough layouts, electrical layouts, route records, ‘as-built’ records and mechanical assemblies etc
- Production of 2D/3D CAD drawings
- Liaising with Design Engineers
- Maintaining drawing records
- Attending site to carry out surveys and measurements
- Liaising with fabricators and others e.g. piling contractors
- Candidates will have a good knowledge of and familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD drawing software and / or Microstation software. A knowledge of 3D drafting techniques and rendering would be an advantage.
- Qualification in an engineering discipline – electrical, mechanical, civil, structural etc. would be an advantage
- Candidates must be competent in basic mathematics to at least GCSE standard.
- Candidates must have a good standard of written English as complex engineering drawings have to be clearly and unambiguously annotated
- Candidates will have experience of engineering drawing of electrical systems, civil / structural layouts, RC foundations, steelwork drawings, mechanical systems etc.
- Candidates should ideally have some experience in basic site surveying techniques ideally with GNSS / GPS equipment
- Candidates should have experience of working on construction sites to obtain ‘as-built’ and record information.
